The Hearts Take on 2022

It only feels like yesterday that we launched The Heart Project, and so much has already happened. We started our little NFT family at a kitchen table with a few friends, not knowing what to expect, and watched it grow into a dedicated and amazing community, hosting parties across the country, a gallery at Art Basel, and so much more. In 2021, we built a foundation that brought us to this exciting moment: THE FUTURE.

Q1 of 2022 brings the next chapter for The Heart Project, and we are beyond excited to share with you what the next few months are going to look like. Starting with establishing the long awaited DAO phase 1, a number of exciting community collaborative projects, merch, clothing collaborations, new video content, airdrops for holders, and much more.

Heart of the Week / Month: Starting this week, we have opened submissions for our “Heart of the Week” initiative. Each week we will go through submissions live on twitch and select the Heart of the Week. The featured community members will have their art shared across all of our social media outlets, be featured in a Q+A twitter space, have an artist profile published on our medium, and more! At the end of each month, there will be a community vote on which Heart of the Week should become our “Heart of the Month,” the selection of which will not only receive extensive amplification of their work, but will also receive 1:1 guidance with industry professionals + team members, as well as financial assistance for their artistic endeavors.

CULT&RAIN Collaboration with Hearts Community: The Heart Project has been invited to be one of four collaborators for Cult & Rain’s Genesis Collection. Of course, we had to source the design from the talented Hearts community. So far we have a number of amazing submissions and are looking forward to wearing these shoes in the metaverse and in real life. More info in our medium post here. HeartsDAO Phase 1: Community opinions and input are important to the success of The Heart Project, and for that we are establishing a DAO through which our community will have a voice in each phase of the project. A more in-depth medium article covering what this and our first vote looks like is coming this week!

• Implementation of GNOSIS multi-signature community wallet, visible to the Hearts community at all times.
• Implementation of Snapshot voting system, allowing heart holders to shape the future of the project.

Prentiss Music Video Pre-Production & Shoot: In December, Aidan, Prentiss, and the community collaborated to create the treatment for our first community music video. As we continue to put this video together, we will be walking the community through the steps of producing a music video: budgeting, planning, shot lists etc. It’s been a blast so far, and we can’t wait to shoot this thing and have our holders be a part of every step.

Zine Airdrop: Our first community project is finally done and ready for release. We have completed a community zine with contributions from the hearts community, and will be airdropping it to all holders. The zine, stunningly compiled and designed by HK and animated by our friend Alan Moutal, is a collection of work and culmination of effort put into The Heart Project thus far. Holders will be airdropped the animated video of the zine, complete with an original score by D33J, as well as an attached version to be read at their own pace. Later in Q1, a “burn window” will open and holders will have the option to exchange their zine token for a physical copy which will be mailed to them. Which version will you choose?

Hearts Asset Refresh / Community Vote: The artist behind The Heart Project, Stefan Meier, has been working behind the scenes to resize, redraw, rearrange, and refresh some of the assets seen in our tokens. Whether it be a background that needs recoloring, proportions + dimensions of a trait needing resizing, or just the appearance of the general cohesiveness of the project’s art, Stefan took it upon himself to give us this update and we support him 100%. Of course, this is a big decision and we will be putting it to a vote within the community. We’re excited for everybody to see the updated art and decide for themselves.

Merch Portal Community Vote + Launch: Wen merch? Merch wen? mErCh? As we finalize the merch portal website, we will be putting merch designs to a community vote. We need to make community decisions regarding final design options, as well as picking which pieces we want to be exclusive to our holders and which ones we want to make available to the public. These decisions will be up to the HeartsDAO.

The Heart Project x Emotionally Unavailable x 2426c Special Collaboration: 2426c founders Edison Chen + Richard Flier are releasing their first NFT collection, which will include an exclusive collaboration between The Heart Project x Emotionally Unavailable.

Prentiss Music Video Post-Production & Release: The Heart Community will work with Aidan and Prentiss to finish and release the collaborative music video through behind the scene streams and a crowdsourced editing process. The funds from the sale of the video will be split between Prentiss and HeartsDAO.

The Heart Project x Vinnie Hager “Love Letters” Valentine’s Day Airdrop: All Heart holders and Letters holders will be airdropped a love letter from our collaborative collection with Vinnie Hager.

Fred Segal Collaboration + Pop-Up: We have been invited to collaborate with legendary clothing brand Fred Segal. We will create some pieces with Fred Segal as well as some pieces with Vinnie Hager and a community-sourced Heart Project clothing capsule, all of which will be displayed at a Heart Project Pop-Up inside the Fred Segal Sunset Blvd location in Los Angeles. We will do an in-store release event on Valentine’s Day (2/14). The capsule will stay up in store for 2 weeks. We will also display NFTs in-store at the ARTCADE installation within Fred Segal and have some graphics on their billboard on Sunset Blvd.

There are many more longer-term projects that we are working on rolling out in Q1 and Q2 of 2022.

We made The Heart Project to give a home to creatives all over the world, to cultivate collaboration, and to create a space for artists to flourish. We can’t wait to see what we build together.
