The Heart Project is all about empowering creatives and giving them the platform they need to bring their ideas to life. We are extremely excited to introduce our community project initiative, which begins today.

Heart holders are now able to submit proposals for creative endeavors of all kinds. If it’s an album, music video, art piece, gallery show, clothing, short film, or anything else you’ve been itching to create, now is your time to make your ideas come to life.

We are opening a 2 week submission period for heart holders to submit their creative proposals. The hearts team will then go through your submissions and choose a few finalists, and the community will vote on the winner. Funding for the project will be given to the winning creator from the Gnosis safe community wallet.

Below are the requirements for creating a pitch. If you don’t know how to do some or any of these things, we are here to help! We have creatives from all fields who work on the Hearts team and are here to answer any questions you may have. Project winners will be mentored by team members with expertise in a relevant field, so if this is your first time pursuing a creative vision, you will have our support!

Your proposal needs three elements:

1. Pitch component (written OR video)

This should be either a ~500 word description of your idea or a roughly 2 minute long video of you explaining your idea. If you choose to do a video, there’s no need for fancy edits or effects — we just want to hear you talking about your idea.

Make sure you include your full name, your heart number(s), your Discord username, and your location (nearest city is fine).

Some questions to consider / talk about in your pitch:

  1. Why are you making what you are making? What inspires you?
  2. What will you be doing? Who will be helping you? What are everyone’s roles in your project?
  3. What is the timeline of your project? How long will it take you to complete?
  4. If you are making a video, will you be posting it online, entering it in a festival, etc.? If you’re making physical goods, where will they be going? Are they for sale? How will you be selling them?
  5. How does this play into your personal journey as an artist/creator?

2. Visual reference component

This part of your proposal is flexible depending on what kind of project you are pitching. This can be as short or as long as you like, but keep words to a minimum (only a few sentences contextualizing the imagery should be enough).

Inspirational content, mood boards, visual references, tech packs if you are making physical items, renders, or treatments depending on what is applicable to your project.

3. Budget

You can ask for a maximum budget of $10,000 or ~3.5 ETH.

Things to think about: labor costs, equipment rentals, production costs, etc. If you are unsure about exact costs feel free to make estimates (example: $300 for props).

The goal is to request a total amount that will give you what you need to make your project come to life. We will work with finalists to develop more detailed budgets.

Only heart holders are eligible to submit a proposal. You must have a heart to pitch a project. Holders can upload their proposals to Dropbox; upload link will be made available to holders via Discord.

The submission window will be open for two weeks until March 25th 2022 at 5PM PST. Good luck and please reach out if you need support!
